AmsterdamPG's Bart Zwemmer winner of EAGE photo contest

Beautiful photographs of geoscience out in the field have been doing the rounds at events around Europe in an exhibition organized by EAGE and EFG (European Federation of Geologists) of the 2013 Photo Contest. The EAGE/EFG Photo Contest 2013 exhibition is touring different geoscience events this autumn, where delegates can look at the 12 best photographs.

With the theme ‘Geoscientists at Work', the shortlisted photos portray geological features of the earth relevant to geoscientific work, geoscientific activities (such as field geophysics, mapping or modelling), or the geoscientist's roles in particular sectors (such as oil and gas, natural hazards, water resources, construction or mining and minerals).

Voting on the best photos from EAGE and EFG members closed on 31 August. The first prize went to AmsterdamPG's Bart Zwemmer. Besides his activities for AmsterdamPG as a GIS specialist, Bart is an upcomming freelance photographer specializing in industrial and corporate photography. For AmsterdamPG he made beautiful photoreports on Geothermal Energy and the E&P industry.
